My name is Wei and I’m doing my dissertation on the Homestuck fandom on Tumblr. More details about this can be found on this blog, on http://vriskandalous.tumblr.com/post/53207410389/okay-so-what-is-this here. And I’m going to need some… Well, test subjects. Sort of.
So I’d really appreciate if you’d be able to reblog this post if you were willing to allow me to use your Tumblr in my study, so that I can follow you. This is especially good for me if you have done anything to contribute to the actual comic i.e. art, sprites, etc etc but if you haven’t, that’s fine nevertheless. you know, i love and am very grateful for all those lovely posts remembering people who have abusive fathers or absent fathers or who have cut their fathers out of their lives for x reason. those are really great posts.
but i haven’t seen any that remember those who have lost their father, due to death or mental illness or anything like that. because today probably sucks hardcore for them.
my dad is alive and well, and he’s a great, upstanding guy whom i am grateful to have as a father. but, you know what? mother’s day is a really hard day for me because of my mom’s mental state. i didn’t even call her this year because sometimes it’s just too emotionally draining to talk to her, and i’m not in a very good place mentally right now. (and especially not on mother’s day!)
so, those of you who have lost your dad, i wish you the best. i’m sorry that today probably sucks for you.
